Abstract work in Galleries this Spring

The Lime Tree Gallery in Bristol will be including a selection of my abstract work in their Spring Exhibition. This recent work has been inspired by my visits to Japan over the passed ten years and includes papers collected whilst there. The papers include origami and handmade paper as well as news paper, manga book, tickets and even junk mail. I enjoy using these papers together as for me it reflects the ancient and modern cultures of the country.

The mixed exhibition opens on 19th March and continues to 12th April http://www.limetreegallery.com

The Swan House Gallery in Harwich are including six of my mixed media paintings in their "Thoroughly Abstract" exhibition opening on 20th March. These small pieces were done whilst travelling between European cities. I collected papers from the cities and used them to create the pieces while travelling by train. Inspired by Paris, Vienna and Prague and the journeys between they are intricate, colourful and unique.

The exhibition continues to 3rd April http://www.theswanhouse.gallery/
